Delivery Day 2
After much effort and resources being put into fixing the motor, we put in the inline pump and were finally were able to set sail! This was much to the crews joy, despite their sea legs being not entirely in place, and at 20:00 CAT we set sail and were happily cruising along at up to 8 knots of wind!
For supper we had some chakalaka and rice, and spent the night getting into our new watches – Peter and Harry, Kerryn and Warrick, Stan and Tyla, and Robert and Yarrel. The crew are all getting along very well, and getting into the routine of things nicely.
The swells have been 1-2m, and the wind has been 15 – 25 knots – perfect sailing weather! The crew are all chuffed to get going, but sad to leave behind the saints and the island, which we had the privilege of enjoying.
After letting out the fishing lines this morning, we ended up doing a 360 and tangling them around our rudder, which provided us with the perfect opportunity to stop and have a refreshing swim in the still-warm Atlantic.
